Ringed Plovers
The Ringed Plover has a large breeding range which extends from north-east Canada in the west to north-east Russia in the east. British breeders are essentially resident, breeding on shingle and sand beaches. Adult UK Ringed Plovers retain a mostly summer-type plumage throughout the year.
