Tawny Owls are a resident, sedentary and very territorial breeding bird in the UK. They are responsible for the most commonly heard owl sound, the classic, nocturnal ‘twit twoo’ call. These owls are primarily a woodland species, but have adapted to live almost anywhere there are trees, including city parks. This image of an owlet was taken at a local park with a deciduous, broad-leaved woodland area.
