European Otter
The otter is elusive and rarely seen. It is one of our top predators, feeding mainly on fish, amphibians and crustaceans.They require clean rivers, with a plentiful supply of food. The Otter is rare but widespread, found throughout the country but absent from parts of central and southern England.
