The Black Winged Stilt favours wetlands with open shallow water. It has a striking and unmistakable elegant shape, with boldly pied plumage, long hot-pink legs, and long, very fine bill. They feed by wading in water, picking with their bill from the water surface. This image was taken at Yala National Park in Sri Lanka.
