Osprey in flight
A migratory bird, the Osprey is present in the UK in summer. They eat fish, catching them in spectacular fashion as they dive towards lakes and lochs, stretching out their talons and scooping them out of the water.This Osprey in flight image was captured at Lyndon Nature Reserve, Rutland. The shot was taken from a bird hide a long way from the nesting platform and this bird in flight was probably a few hindred metres in the distance. Heavily cropped so not the sharpest of images. Will be returning at some stage to watch these fascinating birds.
